Room History

Mary Pickford played a damsel in distress for years in the movies but she really wasn’t in distress at all. With our Mary Pickford suite we celebrate the type of woman she was. She was an actress, producer, co-founder of the Pickford-Fairbanks Studios with Douglas Fairbanks and also co-founder of the United Artists studio with Douglas Fairbanks, Charlie Chaplin, and D. W. Griffith, and she was one of the 36 founders of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, which presents the yearly Oscar Awards ceremony nowadays. Mary Pickford was also a guest of Rosewood Country Inn (formerly called Pleasant View Inn) many times. We are not sure which room exactly she stayed but for the amount of visits, we are sure she tried all the rooms. Our room will remind you the type of person she was. Feminine and strong.
